Publishing and unpublishing the client portal

The client portal is the live link that the agent shares with their client. This article covers when and how to publish and unpublish the portal, and why unpublishing before making changes is a required step in the Wedge process.
Also known as: sharing the itinerary, client link, live link, taking down the portal, hiding the itinerary, unpublishing the quote
Why this matters
When the client portal is published, the client can access it at any time via their link. If changes are being made to the booking while the portal is still live, the client may see incomplete or incorrect information mid-update.
For this reason, unpublish the portal before making any changes and only republish once everything is confirmed and correct.
How to unpublish
Click Unpublish at the top of the page.
The portal is now offline. The client's link will appear broken until you republish — this is expected.
Important: If the agent has already shared the portal link with their client, let the agent know that updates are in progress and that you will confirm when the link is live again.
Making your changes
With the portal unpublished, go ahead and make your updates in Window, refresh the booking in itrvl, and verify all changes have pulled through correctly before republishing.

How to publish
Once all changes are confirmed and the booking looks correct, return to Presentation Editor.
Click Publish.

The client portal is now live again. The existing link will work — the client does not need a new link, they can simply refresh their browser.
Note: Publishing the portal does not automatically notify the agent or client. Make sure the SS is aware the link is live again so they can communicate this to the agent if needed.
