Requesting a provisional hold in itrvl

Written By Itrvl Team

Last updated 20 days ago

Once the itinerary has been checked and the client is ready to proceed, the SS requests a provisional hold directly in itrvl. This triggers hold request emails to the team and locks the booking into a state where invoices can be generated.

Also known as: propping the booking, requesting hold, provisional hold, prov hold, holding space

Before you request hold

  • The TD has checked the booking in itrvl and confirmed the sell rate and margin are correct

  • The client has indicated they want to proceed

  • All accommodation and routing changes have been made in Window and pulled through to itrvl

How to request a provisional hold

  1. Open the booking in itrvl.

  2. Click Request Hold on the invoice margin box.

  1. A pop-up will appear allowing you to add any additional information to include with the hold request. Add relevant notes — for example, honeymoon indicator, special requests, or anything the team needs to action.

  2. Submit the hold request.

Once submitted, the booking status will update and hold request emails will be sent to the team showing travel dates and booking details.

What happens after hold is requested

  • The Request Hold button on the invoice margin box will change to Generate Invoices — this is your confirmation that the hold has been requested successfully

  • The hold request will show the expiry date for the hold, as well as expiry dates per line item

  • The team will action the hold by contacting suppliers as needed

Note: The hold request email will be updated to clearly show which accommodations are on live request and which are in queue, as well as expiry dates per line. Until this update is live, check the booking directly in itrvl for this detail.

Important: Invoices cannot be generated until the booking is provisionally held or hold requested. Do not attempt to generate invoices before this step is complete.
