How to resequence a split route booking

When a booking is out of sequence, it needs to be fixed in Window using the Sequence Check tool before the itinerary will display correctly in itrvl. This article covers how to access and use Sequence Check.

Also known as: fixing booking order, sequence check, reordering itinerary, out of order booking, sequencing

Before you start

  • Confirm the booking is displaying out of order in itrvl before resequencing

  • An unsequenced booking may also prevent costing from processing in Window — if you are seeing costing errors, check the sequence first

How to access Sequence Check

  1. Open the booking in Window.

  2. Go to Tools and select Other Tools.

  3. Click Sequence Check.

How to resequence

  1. In Sequence Check, you will see all line items in the booking listed with their current sequence numbers.

  2. Reorder the sequence numbers so that line items are arranged by their first day in the itinerary.

  3. Line items can share the same sequence number if needed — this will not cause an error.

  4. Any line item with a sequence number of 500 is an "other included service" — these appear at the bottom of the itinerary and do not need to be resequenced.

  1. Once you have reordered the sequence numbers, save your changes.

  2. Go to itrvl and refresh the booking to pull through the updated sequence.

  3. Check the itinerary in itrvl to confirm the line items are now displaying in the correct order.

Note: Resequencing is a process of trial and error. If the itinerary does not look correct after the first attempt, adjust the sequence numbers and refresh again. Go back and forth between Window and itrvl until the order is correct.

After resequencing

Once the booking is displaying correctly in itrvl, check the following before sharing anything with the agent:

  • Line items are in chronological order

  • If the same accommodation appears twice due to a split route, turn off the duplicate in the video configuration in Presentation Editor
