Regenerating the video itinerary

Written By Itrvl Team

When an accommodation is added to or removed from a booking, the video itinerary does not update automatically. This article explains when and how to regenerate it so that the client is always seeing the correct properties.

Also known as: updating the video, refreshing the video itinerary, video not showing new accommodation, accommodation missing from video

When to regenerate

Regenerate the video itinerary any time an accommodation has been added to or removed from a booking. This is the only time a manual regeneration is needed.

You do not need to regenerate when:

  • Nights at an existing accommodation change

  • Pricing or margin is updated

  • Transit or services are added or modified

Quick check: Ask yourself — did a new property come into the booking, or did a property leave it? If yes, regenerate. If no, you're good.

How to regenerate

  1. Open the booking in itrvl and go to Presentation Editor.

  1. Select Video Itinerary from the left-hand menu.

  1. Click Regenerate Video Itinerary.

  1. The video will reset and begin regenerating. This takes a few minutes — you can navigate away and come back to check on it.

  2. Once complete, scrub through the video to confirm all current accommodations are showing correctly.

Excluding an accommodation from the video

If there is an accommodation in the booking that you don't want to appear in the video — for example, a one-night stopover at OR Tambo — you can turn it off before regenerating.

  1. In the Video Itinerary configuration, locate the accommodation you want to exclude.

  2. Toggle it off.

  3. Click Save.

  4. The video will regenerate automatically with that property excluded.

Note: Once regenerated, the updated video is immediately available via the existing client portal link. The client does not need a new link — they can simply refresh their browser to see the updated version.
